Mom just got off the phone with Dr. Vet. While Simon's thyroid levels have improved drastically, his liver values are out the roof.
Dr. Vet is afraid Simon is going through liver failure...she's not sure if it's a mass or what. We're going to try some things involving subq fluids and some new food. Please pray for Simon!
Oh dear, we are sorry to hear this. Our human sister had a kitty who had kidney issues and did quite well with subcutaneous fluids for a couple of years. But we don't know how that works with the liver. Paws crossed for Simon to be OK. Hugs to Mom.

Oh, I'm so sorry. What a shock this must have been after being told it was just his thyroid. Was the liver panel "off" before, or did this just start with the thyroid medication? If so, I'd be wondering if it was related somehow to the thyroid meds. How old is Simon? Praying for all of you.
ReplyDeleteHey Anna.

Anna, have your mom look into Denosyl. It is a supplement that is liver protective and can help reverse damage from liver failure. My Layla has been on it for about 6 months now. I'm so sorry about Simon, we're sending our healing thoughts his way.
