RIP Turquoise Nightmare

I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! Mine was pretty awesome...and dad is still with us. Not because he saved his butt by doing anything for V-Day (way to step up dad...ever heard of flowers? Ahem...) but because mom was so enamoured with our new floors she didn't care!

Any of you that have read my blog for a while may have noticed that our floors in our house are horrendous! The carpet, while quite plush, is a horrible turquoise leaf pattern, with a lovely white and turquoise linolieum. Mom hates these floors. They haunt her at night. They've killed three vaccum cleaners with their leafy-plushness. They refuse to die. But in our final stage of complete home remodel, her dreams came true...they went RIP.

On Sunday Night, Simon and I paid our respects to the turquoise nightmare....

Can you find Simon's head?? How does he do that??
WARNING: EXCUSE THE MESSES IN THE HOUSE!! EVERYTHING WAS EVERYWHERE DUE TO CONSTRUKTION. WE DON'T LIVE LIKE SQUATTERS (mom wanted to make sure you knew that)

The old kitchen floors and carpet...blah!

Mia is paying her final respekts...

The hall...yeah, it's pretty bad!

Viola!! Check that out!!!

I approve these new floors. The kitties have less traction when I chase them. Muwhahahahaha!
They didn't get all the carpet out and replaced with the new carpet yet, they're doing that today. Dad and I will once again stay outside and supervise. Mom is so happy...RIP horrible floors!!
And thank you all for the good eye-mojo!!

  3. Oh, those are nice. My Mom hates her old floors and carpet, too, but I don't think they're going anywhere just yet. Me, I don't really care that much, but it all seems to mean a lot to humans.

  4. The floors are beautiful. Can you tell us what they are? Are they real wood or pergo or what? Mom so wants to do something with our floors that doesn't involve sanding and staining.

  6. Oh, Mom is getting a case of jellyness! We have a HIDEOUS laminate bathroom! It's covered from top to bottom in ugly formica looking stuff that Dad promised Mom they would get rid of when they bought the house. It's still there!

Isn't that floor going to make it hard for you to sneak through the house in Stealth Shepherd mode? It looks fabulous!

  7. Beautiful floors!!! We love them!!! We would so much like to have some new floors...our house is so old and the carpets are horrible now. Someday maybe!! We want floors like you have!!! Anna, that dog yesterday at the vet looked just like you and he was so big and beautiful. The woman running away with her dog is still making us laugh. He was really smooth with Holly until he went for the butt and she got very timid acting. The owners and myself decided that they were a good couple for Valentine's Day! The bad thing is we don't know where he lives! Lots of love and congratulations on the beautiful floors! Debbie and Holly

  8. The floors are lovely!!!! So worth the wait! Sad to see soft carpet go, but with the added bonus of sliding kitties, how can you go wrong...

  9. Anna, I think you got to have your pawdicure very often now if you don't want to be heard when you're up to something!
My humans know exactly where I am whenever I'm on that kind of floor. May be some ballet tip toe skills are needed!
