Something Spooky...and Squirrely

It's close to Howl-o-ween and I know there are some spooky stuffs out there...like goblins and witches and monsters. And I'm okay with that...but today what I found on my morning patrol truly scared me.....

I was walking around, la la la, checking out my stick and my pit when I looked up and saw something so bloody scary I may have pooped a little...
Can you see what's up in my tree?? CAN YOU?!!
I'll zoom in....OMG it's a squirrel nest!! When the crap did that get there?? And why's it in MY TREE?!?! And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse...I looked over and saw....

A SECOND squirrel nest!!!!

Seriously! Why are these tree rats in MY TREE?!?! And they must be kamikazee zombie squirrels to be stupid enough to build in MY TREE! This, my friends, is terrifying! I don't know if they're that stupid or being brave and getting ready to attack....

I check out behind me to make sure they're not preparing a sneak attack...

Hmm...think I'll guard my tree today! I don't think I'll be able to nap...I may have to fortify my pit and hide my toys!

  1. Anna, A tree nest is in your tree? Not one but two? They must be nutty. Keep guard on your tree and don't let them take it over!! Oh..on your comment on our blog, we think it would just be totally pawssome if you come to the BRP next year and get as far as where we live!!!! That would be great!!! Oh what fun!!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

  2. Oh dear, I think you've to increase your patrols. Keep an eye on them and don't let them escape! What a huge responsibility that you're having right now!!!

  3. Anna, you remind me so much of Morgan! She wouldn't be able to sleep if she knew we had a squirrel nest on the property, either. She's always on alert for something! As for me, I usually just nap while she's on patrol.

  5. Not sure we have ever seen a squirrel nest - those really would be scary!!! You could have baby squirrels dropping down on your head. Keep your eyes peeled upwards, Anna.

  6. We have them ALL OVER the place here. There are oak trees in almost every yard and that means acorns and that means that the squirrels are always trying to take over everything. It's a lot of work keeping them at bay, but I haven't been able to do anything about the nests except glare at them.

Earlier this year a nest fell down and babies fell out and Franklin found them. You know what he did? Nothing. Just sat there watching them until Blog Mom made him come in. Then she made us stay out of OUR back yard until the mom squirrel had time to fix the nest and pick the kids back up. People are crazy here, I tell you.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  7. Those squirrels have some nerve, don't they?! I wonder if they've already got pieces of your toys up there in those nests. I remember you talking 'bout how they stole them before! Evil, diabolical squirrels...

Thanks for your comments on my blog. Yeah, I've got my own princess tent right in our living room. It's my new hidey spot! Mom gave it to me for my birthday in September. I turned 10!

  8. Haha!! I just checked in and realized I wasn't following you. I could've sworn I was, but clearly not. (I always admire your gorgeous pup's pic when doing my blog rounds ;)
Anyway - we have family that went to Auburn, so the colors immediately caught my eye...Watch out for those squirrels!!
Check out my blog if you get a chance: http://arwenspack.blogspot.com/
