Helping Burry the Bodies

Each year, mom commits murder. Her intentions are well meant, and some may even argue it's unintentional manslaughter, but nope, it's straight up premeditated MURDER!

Let me show you the scene of the crime.....

Yep, for some reason, my mom thinks she can grow plants. She can't. She knows she can't. But she gets to looking around the neighborhood at all the pretty plants and thinks "This is the year!" Yeah, the year of DEATH!

Here's this year's victims and killing supplies. Poor guys, they have no idea what's about to hit them...oh and notice mom didn't have to buy any soil, cause the dirt in the planter is nice and rich due to the decomposition of previous years' victims!!!

I supervised, just so I could tell the po-po (aka police) about what happened.

But then I got sucked in...I mean, you call this a hole?!? Woman! No wonder you kill them all!

Sometimes you just have to jump in there and do it yourself....oh wait, oh no! This makes me an accomplice!!!

This is my look of shame to mom. How dare you trick me into helping your murderous plot! And how dare you waste my toy and nom monies on flowers that you're going to kill!

Ugh, in fact, I can't even look at you right now!! It does look good though...sigh....

As of right now, they're all still alive. I think mostly cause it rained after she planted them. It's the watering mom has a problem with, but she said she's going to water them today....umm hmm...we'll see how that goes!

  2. Is my mom and your mom related? I used to try to help by pulling the plants up and running rilly fast with the roots waving in the breeze to try and save them but mom would tackle me, pry the plants out of my mouf (wot I woz holding them efur so gently with) and stick the poor plants back in their graves. Sigh.

  4. Anna, you are funny!! We don't plant flowers here anymore because in the past, they always were murdered. Even the pretty baskets of flowers that you just have to water....dead after a month. Black thumb for sure here! Lots of love, Holly and mom

  5. Mamma tried to plant trees in my yard!?! I promptly pulled them out of the ground and ate them. Now we barely have grass in the yard 'cuz McIver builds his studly muscles by digging holes everywhere! I don't really have to dig, I was blessed with this Adonis physique...

  6. With all the rain around here, Mom's plants wouldn't have much problem with watering, but we have to figure out what to do with the "un-gardener" here. The big question is - will Mom be able to put some potted plants on the deck this year or will Ciara de-pot them all again?

Good luck with those pretty flowers.

  9. Oh Anna Banana - you got sucked into to helping and now the Po-Po garden gnomes will be coming after you too. Make sure you "wipe your paws" so there is no incriminating evidence left :) :)

  15. Maybe you'll just have to do a rain dance once a year and get them all to keep living so the police never come sniffing around! Those flowers do look nice next to your pretty fur. I think you should keep them around just for that reason!

  16. Surely no one can kill marigolds, even if they try!! Maybe this year will be different. This made me laugh!! And isn't it great how shepherds know what you're doing and will try to "help" you? I'll be pointing out some strange weed in the garden, and Lady will go straight over to the EXACT weed I am talking about, and give it a good sniffing. How do they do that?? Hilarious!

  17. I have similar problems as your mom. Please don't call the cops on me!!!

The one thing that I can grow is lettuce... and carrots... and I've even figured out how to keep the rabbits from eating them!

  18. hey Anna!
Wow, funny. My mom kills things too. We have trees...therefore no sun. She's finally gonna get smart and try some shade-loving plants. We're hopefull, but the smart money is on another bunch of wilted, dead plants. At least you got some dig time in!

  19. I've had bad luck with my two potted plants too, so I know how it's like. You should give her a chance, maybe the flowers will do great this year. The best of luck!

    Also, happy Easter!

  20. our human said she's giving up this year and not planting any flowers...however we know once she goes to the garden centre she won't be able to resist, we don't know why she gets so annoyed at us picking them for her once they're planted! Nice to meet you, dex & louis x
